Janet Wolforth of Safe Niche Products was fully aware of the dangers of the halogenated anesthetic gasses used in the sedation of laboratory animals, known to cause “spontaneous abortion” to pregnant women who are exposed to these gasses. We have developed a prototype that scrubs the dangerous gasses from the induction chamber to prevent technician and surgeon exposure. The microprocessor controlled unit utilizes activated charcoal to absorb the necessary amount of gas based on the chamber size.
